- Response time
Most emails are answered within two working days. The extension is free and there is no paid support tier, so everyone waits the same amount of time.
- Bugs and feature requests
Both are welcome by email. A bug report with the details listed below usually gets fixed in the next release; one without them usually needs a second exchange first.
The problems that come up most
Nothing happens on this page
Some pages are closed to every extension by the browser itself, not by this one:
chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store, other extensions' pages, and the PDF
viewer. There is no permission that unlocks them. Open the page in a normal tab
and try there.
The screenshot repeats the navigation bar
That band should be excluded automatically. When it is not, the page is doing something unusual with the element, and it is worth reporting: send the URL and the capture, and it can usually be fixed.
Part of the image is blank or grey
The page loaded those sections lazily and did not finish drawing them before the frame was taken. Scroll the page to the bottom yourself, wait for everything to appear, scroll back to the top and capture again.
The capture came out smaller than the page
Browsers cap how large a single canvas can be. Past that height the capture is reduced rather than failing, and the viewer says so in the Details panel. The image is complete; it is just not at full resolution.
The keyboard shortcut does nothing
Chrome assigns extension shortcuts on a first-come basis, so another extension
may hold yours. Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts to see what is bound and
change it.
The PDF is enormous
Open Export options in the preview and drop PDF size to Balanced or Compact. That reduces the resolution of the image inside the PDF rather than its quality, which is what actually controls the file size. The document keeps its dimensions either way.
My captures disappeared
The extension keeps only the most recent few captures and deletes anything older than 24 hours, by design: they are held in your browser, and an unbounded pile of 50-megapixel images is not something to leave lying in it. Download anything you want to keep. Nothing is stored anywhere else, so there is no copy to recover.
Reporting a bug
Four things make almost any report actionable:
- The page address, if it is public. A capture that goes wrong on one site usually goes wrong for a reason specific to that site.
- What you expected and what you got. Attaching the screenshot itself is ideal; redact it first if it needs it.
- Your browser and version, from
chrome://version. - Whether it happens every time or only sometimes.
If the capture failed rather than looked wrong, the viewer usually shows an error message. Quote it exactly.
Privacy and data
The extension collects nothing. It makes no network requests, has no servers and
no analytics, and asks only for the activeTab permission, which is granted per
click and expires by itself. Captures stay in your browser. The full detail is in
the privacy policy.
If you email us, we hold that email in order to reply to it, and for nothing else.
